I have recently been told by several people that I am an inspiration to so many. At first, I did not believe that could hardly be possible. However, I have been thinking about it a whole lot lately, and I am embracing it as being true and as a remarkable accomplishment in such a short period of time. I do not want to just be an inspiration to the LGBTQ+ community but, as Marilyn reminded me after my recent television interview, I am also a role model to the cisgender community as well. However, there is still much more work to be done.
That is why I am honored and humbled to be asked to share some of my poetry as part of the CANAPI World AIDS Day Commemoration to be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Square Nightclub in Highland Square, 820 West Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44303.
Please join us at this important event.
